Help for Eczema

Does anyone in your family suffer from dry skin, psoriasis or eczema? It is now possible that they do not have to suffer anymore. You may have tried many creams and prescriptions to help heal the skin, yet they do not work, or are only a temporary fix. Now there is a cream that is proven to help and relieve eczema without the fillers. This lotion is proven to be seven times more effective in moisture absorption.

There are many reasons for eczema. Eczema may be genetic or due to food allergies and environmental factors. The child may also have asthma or allergic rhinitis. Allergies may include milk or eggs, wool, detergent or additives, peanuts or allergies to cats and dogs.

Managing a child with eczema should include seeing a doctor to confirm a diagnosis. Once you find out what the child may be allergic to I highly recommend avoiding it. A doctor may suggest emulsifying ointment, the weakest strength of steroid application, antihistamine, and topical or oral antibiotics.

Generally, children between the ages of two and five can recover, but in some cases mild eczema will continue into adulthood.

If you would like to learn more about how to help someone suffering from eczema or other related conditions, please feel free to contact me. I’ve spoken with moms that have tried for years to find relief for their child. As a last resort, they tried our products and the symptoms were better within two to three days. I mentioned this lotion to a friend of mine many times, because her daughter suffered from terrible eczema on her face. My friend finally agreed to try it for her daughter and her skin improved within days of using the product.

I would love to help with your dry skin needs.  Please feel free to contact me at Jann3b@aol.com.

Purchasing the Best Beach Backpacks for Kids

April 30, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Blog

Summer is approaching quicker than you think and you may be going to head off to the beach for a family vacation with your kids.  It is never too early to plan a summer vacation.  Something you will most likely need are beach backpacks for kids.  For kids, a backpack is a very handy accessory that can carry just about everything they will need for a day trip or even a weekend, from clothes to toiletries and ipods to hats, jackets, toys and books.  As well, having a backpack to lug supplies down to the beach area is very handy, whether you are a toddler, young kid, parent or teen.

The type of kid’s beach backpacks you need depend on the ages and sizes of your children, as well as what you, or they, need the backpack for.  A beach trip is one of the funniest trips a kid can go on, but there are considerations not found on other types of trips where backpacks are used.  A beach trip usually involves more sand, sun, salty air and salt water.

You may want a functional kids beach backpack for the carrying of clothes and sundries or you may want to buy one that can carry items such as food and water bottles. As well you can find combined backpacks that have a separate removable section for clothes and one for food or drink.  Also popular are beach backpacks for little kids that are used to carry all of their sand toys.  You can tell there are a variety of backpacks to think about depending on the needs or ages of the kids.

One thing to look for is the ability of the beach backpack to be waterproof.  These are not the easiest bags to find for older kids and shopping online seems to offer the best choice in this variety.  One popular older kid’s beach backpack is divided into two sections. The top mesh section is for holding clothes and towels, and the bottom insulated section acts like a cooler for food or drink.

You are going to want separate compartments in any older kids beach backpack since this will help keep items like hair products or suntan lotion away from clothing or towels.  As well make sure the exterior is made of nylon or some heavier waterproof fabric.  A denim bag would not be very good against water of course.  Most kids beach backpacks are designed to have a drawstring top, be lightweight and have just a few separate areas for keeping a towel, money, suntan lotion, maybe a hat or book, and very little else.  Beach backpacks are not as large or cumbersome as school or camping ones.  Most beach backpacks are for one day trips down to the sand area and that is about all.

For little tikes there are a variety of kid’s beach backpacks for carrying toys.  Most seem to be clear plastic with some colorful designs or stitching.  They usually are light since the toys are all plastic.  These types of backpacks may come with little sand molds, buckets, plastic tools, and scoops.  These beach backpacks for kids are not meant to carry anything but toys.  They are good because they are fairly water proof and can tolerate sand well.  You simply have to rinse your child’s toys in the water and stuff them back in the bag, ready to use the next day.  You can never get rid of all the sand accumulated from a day at the beach, so these backpacks work well to keep all of the sandy toys together.  They are also light enough that little kids can carry them, even though the shoulder straps are sometimes non existent or not comfortable.

There is nothing keeping you from being creative and using these clear beach backpacks for clothes.  There are also larger kids clear school backpacks which can be used as dedicated beach backpacks instead.

A beach backpack for kids would make the perfect gift for the child that you know goes to the beach on occasion, or your own kid.  Having been to the beach many times with kids myself I can attest that they do come in very handy and make things so much easier to carry items and keep them out of the sand.  You may want one for each kid plus yourself, so everyone can carry some of their own beach gear.

The Importance of Sunscreen Lotion

April 29, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment

Sunscreen is one of the most important products for preserving and protecting one’s skin. Over the years, sun-related cancers have been on the rise. Fair-skinned people, especially those with red hair, are particularly vulnerable to these cancers and have to be extra vigilant about applying sun screen lotion whenever they go outside, especially during the hours when the sun is highest in the sky. There are many different types of sunscreen available, designed around different uses.

For the lightest sun exposure and for the winter months, a low SPF—an acronym for “sun protection factor”—sunscreen is appropriate. These products tend to be lighter than the higher SPF versions and, while they provide less protection, they help mitigate the effects of short term sun exposure.

Sunscreen lotion with a high SPF is a necessity for going to the beach, outdoor activities or going out to sea. In all of these cases, the skin is exposed to prolonged, direct sun which, aside from the life-threatening potential, accelerates wrinkling of the skin and can result in other cosmetic effects, such a spotting. For particularly intense activities, sweat resistant products are available that make certain the protective effects endure even when the skin is sweaty.

Children’s skin is much more sensitive than adult skin. Sunscreen lotion designed to accommodate this should be used to both protect a child’s skin from the sun and to keep the skin free of ingredients that may be appropriate for adult skin, but not for a child’s.

Of course, some people do love to tan and some people are lucky enough to have skin that, when exposed to the sun, takes on a beautiful, darker hue. Sunscreen products are available that allow for tanning while still providing protection from the most harmful of the sun’s rays. If one intends to spend time on the beach getting a tan, this is a great way to be sensible about it while still enjoying the pleasant effects of the sun.

Those with the most sensitive skin, however, need to take extra precautions. Sunscreen lotion should not only be applied to the arms and upper body, it should also be applied to the ears, the back of the neck and the face. For facial use, there are products available that don’t clog pores and that are extremely gentle as warranted by the tender skin of the face. The nose, in particular, needs protection as it extends outward from the face enough to often be bereft of the protection of a narrow-brimmed hat. This sensitive skin should be given extra attention by way of extra lotion.

Applying sunscreen lotion is a good way to guard your health and enable you to enjoy the fun of the outdoors without paying a price in the form of a painful sunburn. Because of the serious risks posed by sun exposure and the wide variety of natural, gentle products available to mitigate those dangers, there is no good reason not to take advantage of this protection.

How to Clean & Treat Oily Greasy Skin – Effective Solutions for Revitalizing a Dull Oily Complexion

April 27, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Blog

Is it oily skin you have, no greasy skin? Is it greasy skin you have, no oily skin? Women will do anything to avoid having to admit having one or the other skin type, but more the woman who blushes over the issue. Is it oily or dry skin that women suffer from the most? Both conditions come on a level par as a problem for both genders. People the world over have at some time experienced patches of either dry or oily skin, and still do for them who haven`t found a solution to treat the problem.

Not that the mature man/woman is not affected with oily skin, it is primarily an issue we connect towards the younger individual where it affects 1 of every 2 teenagers (girl and boy.) Oily skin is more likely to bring blackheads, skin shine, and if you love cosmetics and like creating the perfect finish - then oily skin can prevent this from happening. Acne is another result of greasy skin. Sadly, just washing the face isn’t enough, and over-washing is unhealthy. Remember, some specific oily skin treatments contain harsh chemicals so read the label carefully and follow instructions accordingly. Particular ingredients upset the delicate Ph balance of the skin or skin tone so take care, as we are here to treat oily skin “only” and not something derived as a result from using products that contained harsh substances. Un-agreeable elements used on your skin can cause serious skin concerns.

When looking for a solution for oily skin, then natural oils is naturally the best. There are women who cannot get there head round why, when you have oily skin how using “oils” is the answer. A lot of answers to our problems may not make sense or seem right; however the important thing is if it works and is safe then why on earth question them answers.

Solution for Oily Skin - Citrus essential oils, such as lemon, grapefruit, tangerine and orange, helps treat oily skin without the worry of harsh ingredients coming in contact with the skin. Find an all-natural herbal lotion base and add 3 to 4 drops per ounce of the citrus essential oil of choice to the base (herbal lotion, skin toner, aloe Vera gel, witch hazel). This remedy is best applied in the evening to help prevent oily skin. Wash the face thoroughly every morning with a mild antibacterial soap prior to facial applications.

Blackheads and Oily Skin

Nearly every one of us at some time may have seen a blackhead on the nose, chin, ear, or even inside the lobe and they are not very nice, however unsightly they are you must never squeeze a blackhead with your fingernails as this is not healthy, there is a knack to ridding blackheads which is more hygienic and safe.

Blackhead reducer

Mix an oatmeal paste with unflavored oatmeal, lemon juice and olive oil, using just enough olive oil to wet the mixture. Warm the mix. Smooth over the face to draw oil from pores to help reduce blackheads. Rinse the face thoroughly with warm water. On your travels while you search for oily skin treatments you will face having to choose from a variety of beauty products and remedies. If you’re in a dilemma and confused about what to select as the appropriate treatment ask an assistant for assistance, and always get a second opinion from your doctor on selected treatments.

Many treatments suggested will appear more appetizing to the palette than what is considered as solution to oily skin, however if you want to treat and cure oily skin you have to resist the urge to nibble on the ingredients. Reduce oil discharge for fresh looking skin and less greasy appearance by trying:

A crab apple concoction made into a paste which you smooth over the face and neck and leave for 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. It is a rich source of alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) which the benefits the skin by toning, softening and moisturizing dull oily skin.

Wheat germ oil has amazing qualities for perfecting the skin in a number of ways. Smooth wheat germ oil over your face in a massage type fashion. Leave it on for 60 minutes and rinse off with warm water. Natural vitamin E is a powerful anti-oxidant, this oil prevents skin damage caused by UV rays and environmental pollution. It’s a fabulous method for softening the skin. Worth and all over body massage with the oil don`t you agree.

Milk- It is vitally important for people with oily skin to keep their skin clear otherwise it has a tendency to form acne lesions making the skin patchy, discolored and course. If oil is present the skin becomes tacky thus working like a magnet drawing dirt/grime towards the stickiness which then clogs the pores. Clogged pores increase development of oil secretion. Milk is an oil free cleanser which doesn’t dry out the skin. Treat the face several times a day with a milk-wash to keep sebum/oil to a minimum. Clean the face thoroughly before going to bed. Make sure every trace of make-up is removed. Mix 2-3 drops of sandalwood or lavender oil with 2 tablespoon of milk. Massage with cotton wool swab to clean ingrained grime and makeup. Do not stretch or over-pull the skin around the eyes. Gentle massage improves blood circulation. If you have broken skin, avoid stretching in that area to prevent spread of infection.

Most women think that once they have given the skin the once over with soap and water that is the end of that. Think about it ladies, all women wash their face but still suffer problems and why, simply because washing is not enough for maintaining and achieving a radiant complexion.

Moisturizing the skin is a vital element that should be practiced at every possible convenience in a woman’s` beauty regime. A beauty conquest is incomplete without moisturizer. The skin loses its natural moistures throughout the day and needs replenishing, and if moisturizer is not used - you face skin issues like roughness and the skin becoming irritated. Facial and body skin needs regular moisturizing and from this you will see fewer fine lines, a smooth texture, and less surface flaking. Honey is a natural moisturizer. Anything natural is good. Apply a thin layer of honey over the face. Yes it`s messy and sticky, but hey if it’s the answer to your problem, then what is the problem. The honey glaze is easily removed with warm water after it had been left on for about 15 minutes.

Judge the amount of oil in your skin and moisturize accordingly.

Following the moisturizing session you need to exfoliate. It is necessary to exfoliate with a mild facial scrub about 3-4 times per week to balance the skin’s moisture. Rice powder is a natural exfoliating agent. It gives over-stressed oily skin a new vitality and a healthy glow.

Make a paste with 1 tablespoon rice powder, 1 tablespoon corn flour and a few drops of lemon juice. Add water if needed. Using an upward/outward circular motion massage the mix on the face. This particular blend actually rids dead cells that mass in the upper layer of the skin. Lemon citrus stimulates the nerves while the chemicals contained in the juice have a bleaching agent that treats dark spots left by the various outbreaks of the oily skin. Lemon fresh is how the skin will feel after you have finished.

Make a facial scrub with 2 tablespoons of almond meal, 1 tablespoon ground lemon rind and 3-4 tablespoon milk.

When bathing, add rose petals and 3-4 drops of chamomile oil to the water and 1 drop of geranium oil. The chemicals in the petals and the oils act as a unique toner for oily skin.

It`s funny how when we age we find ourselves trying to understand how over the years that what we battled against, is now what we battle for, meaning, the treatments involved for ridding oil is now a reverse treatment where we look to put oil back into the skin because oil production decreases with age.

With age, skin starts to wrinkle making it necessary to supply the skin with oils. Oily skin has its perks because it generally ages the skin “slowly,” so look on the bright side because maybe, just maybe, you may warm to the idea of the glossy look in comparison to the look of a dried prune.

Stop Wasting Money On The Latest Treatment Of Psoriasis

February 28, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment

Once you understand that psoriasis is an internal disease and not just a skin complaint it will be easier to control. You will no longer need to waste money on messy ointments and latest treatments of psoriasis that give only temporary relief at best and instead concentrate finding lasting relief from this embarrassing and unsightly condition What is psoriasis? It is an immune system disorder where skin cells or keratinocytes multiply faster than their normal 28-30 day cycle. These extra skin cells then build up on the surface of the skin forming red inflamed plaques or lesions with silvery scales, which can be found on all parts of the body, but more commonly on the elbows and knees and occasionally on the scalp, arms and legs. Psoriasis is not fussy whom it attacks! People of any age, sex or race can become victims. However the severity of the disease can vary greatly in different people. Some people only ever have one outbreak and are never troubled again while others suffer a severe form and are in constant discomfort. The severity of psoriasis is measured by a system called PASI, or psoriasis area and severity index which is based on the skin area affected and the level of inflammation and redness present. Causes of psoriasis An immune system malfunction is believed to be the most common cause. The immune system is mistakenly triggered which causes an increase in the white blood cells which causes inflammation. Stress, especially prolonged stress can also be a trigger. Genetics may also play a part and some doctors believed it can be passed down through the generations. Certain medications can also bring on an attack. Is psoriasis contagious? The answer to this is a definite no. It cannot be passed on to others on contact or in any other way. How can I find a psoriasis treatment Many treatments have been tried but most have only a temporary effect as they are treating the disease from outside and not from within. The most common medical treatment is topically applied cortisone cream followed by coal tar ointment, anthralin and calamine lotion. Of all these the calamine lotion is probably the safest but it only stop the itching for a little while. Coal tar ointment can be effective but is messy and can cause skin irritation. Cortisone products can causes thinning of the skin when used consistantly so avoid these if possible. Some people find that moisturizing the skin can bring relief. If you are trying this only use a moisturizer with natural ingredients as one containing mineral oil can do more harm than good. Exposure to sunlight or ultra violet A rays (UVA) is one of the latest treatments of psoriasis, but the side effects can be skin cancer and premature wrinkling of the skin. Exposure to UV should be monitered very carefully. Then there are the internal treatments such as methotrexate and cyclosporine. I like to say “if you can’t pronounce it - don’t eat it” Well nowhere is this more true than these two examples! Methotrexate can lead to hair loss, decreased resistance to infection, headaches and miscarriage among other things. Side effects associated with cyclosporine include insomnia, acne, stomach pains and nausea. Is there anything that’s safe to use to treat psoriasis? Since the disease is triggered by the immune system the logical answer is to treat the immune system. Herbal remedies can nurture our skin from the inside making them very effective. Small lifestle changes such as eating a healthy diet and drinking plenty of water can also give your immune system a boost. Because psoriasis comes from within, it will always respond better to an internal treatment. Treat the body from within and use a natural anti itching cream or lotion on the skin itself. We can’t yet cure psoriasis but we can manage it well enough so it doesn’t have such a debilitating effect on our lives.

Useful Tips on Caring For Your New Tattoo

February 27, 2010 by admin · Leave a Comment
Filed under: Blog

Congratulations on your new body art design. If you are like most people who get their first tattoo, this tattoo will not end up being your only one. But before you head back to the tattoo parlor for your second one, it is important that you care for the first one properly. This is for the optimal look of the tattoo as well as optimizing the healing process following the design inking. Maintaining your tattoo will keep it looking good for a long time to come. Hopefully you chose to work with a good tattoo artist so they were able to minimize the trauma to the skin during the inking process which will allow for a faster healing time with less chance of infection and limited irritation.

Be sure to take good care right after you get the tattoo:

The first thing to remember after getting a tattoo is to keep the bandage that the tattoo parlor places on you for at least one hour. The new tattoo is really an open wound on the skin’s surface and can become infected with bacteria or cause a patchy healing over the tattoo. Keeping the bandage on will reduce problems from occurring. Once you are ready to remove the bandage, soak it in warm water for a few minutes before peeling it off. This helps the bandage to come away from the skin much easier especially if the skin has started to stick to the bandage. You will not want to remove healing skin when removing the bandage covering so make sure to carefully and slowly take the bandage off. If the tattoo was covered in a cellophane piece, you will want to remove it and replace with a non-stick gauze pad since this allows the tattoo to breathe and heal, at the same time as not trapping any bacteria in the open wound.

Once it is time to remove the bandage, clean the tattoo off gently with warm water and antimicrobial soap. Soap made specifically for healing a tattoo may also be used here, but regular bar soap should not be used since it will dry out the tattoo area to much. To wash the tattoo, lather the soap in your hand, apply to the tattoo, rinse off with the warm water and then pat dry with a clean, dry towel. Following the cleaning, you should cover the tattoo with a moisturizing lotion or a product made for the healing of a tattoo. Many tattoo parlors suggest using Neosporin, but follow what your tattoo parlor recommends since they may refuse to do touch-ups if you do not do as they instruct you to do. If using a moisturizing lotion, make sure to use one that is free of fragrances and colors as these ingredients may cause irritation to the healing skin.

Apply the lotion or healing product, reapply the bandage for the first twenty-four hours. After the first day, simply reapply the lotion or ointment thinly twice daily for the next three to five days or until the tattoo has completely healed. Placing a bandage on after the first day may be up to you and how well the tattoo is healing. The normal time a tattoo may take for healing is about six days to fourteen days, depending on your body’s healing ability. The tattoo may peel once or even twice before it is completely healed over. Remember not to scratch, peel or pick at it. Just leave it be and your tattoo will take care of itself and look allow it to look its best. The tattoo may go through an ugly period during healing but don’t worry since it will fix itself after complete healing takes place.

For a lasting tattoo, remember to apply sunscreen whenever exposing the tattoo to the sun’s rays in the future. Sunlight will bleach out the color of a tattoo and sunscreen will help to prevent that from happening, giving you a great look piece of body art for years to come.

The Most Effective Skin Whitening Cream

February 26, 2010 by admin · 4 Comments

Are you sick and tired of looking for a safe and effective skin whitening lotion? A skin whitening cream that contains extracts the cyperus rotundus root is your best bet. Other creams on the market contain irritating and harmful ingredients.

In many cases, skin whitening lotion contains mercury, acids and exfoliants that bleach, peel and “scrub off” your skin’s outer layer. Mercury is, of course, a hazardous heavy metal and its inclusion in skincare products is controversial. The major cosmetic companies claim that it is “safe” because it does not penetrate the dermis. Public safety advocates say that it is “not safe”, because it can penetrate and enter the bloodstream.

Bleaches, peels and exfoliants are primarily irritating, but the redness and inflammation that they cause can become chronic and lead to future problems. Chronic inflammation plays a role in the development of rosacea and DNA degeneration. DNA degeneration may lead to wrinkles or cancerous growths.

So, my first word of advice for choosing a skin whitening cream is to avoid the big name brands. Read the label of ingredients and look for the most natural alternatives.

The fastest acting, most effective skin whitening cream that is also safe and natural includes extracts from the root mentioned above and a special protein extracted from sheep’s wool. The protein has been shown to stimulate skin cell production. The root extract has been shown to inhibit melanin production. So, what you get is a fast turnover of lighter colored cells.

The skin’s layers are active. The outermost layer of cells is constantly sloughing off, without the use of exfoliants. The deeper layers are constantly producing new cells to replace them. But, as do other biological processes, cellular reproduction slows down with age. Protein creams were first formulated to counter and delay the affects that time has on our appearance.

The root extracts were not originally developed for use in skin whitening lotion, either. Creams that contain the extract were developed to relieve irritation caused by dermatitis, allergic reaction, bee stings or other injuries.

The company that has designed the safest and fast-acting skin whitening cream did so after carefully researching the products that were currently available and the world’s best natural alternatives. The extracts from cyperus rotundus, for example, were first manufactured by a German company. The patented process that allows for the extraction of protein from sheep’s wool, without destroying its activity, was developed in New Zealand.

The best skin whitening lotion is also manufactured in New Zealand, but thanks to the internet, the lotions are available throughout the world. The company adheres to the cosmetic manufacturing regulations created by the European Union, which are much stricter than those of the US and other parts of the world.

Make no mistake about it, the most common ingredient in skin whitening cream is hydroquinone, not to be confused with ubiquinone, which is coenzyme Q10, an effective antioxidant. The best skin whitening lotion contains coenzyme Q10, because of its anti-wrinkle effects. If you want something safe and effective, read the label and protect your health.
