Is it better to use tanning oil or tanning lotion in a tanning bed? Im deciding which to use, because ive heard from people that tanning oil ruins the tanning bed is this true???

Any information about tanning lotions and oils would be greatly appreciated

Thank you!

TANNING OILS DO RUIN TANNING BEDS. Please do not use an oil in a bed. Be careful where you buy your lotion from. Most salons severely jack up the price on lotions. To find a wide variety of lotions at reasonable prices, look on ebay. I buy all of my tanning lotion from there. It’s also extremely safe to order off there when you pay with paypal. I do not like lotions with a bronzer or tingle. I just like accelerators. The classic is australian gold accelerator. It’s great; should cost about 15 on ebay, but 20 in a salon prob. I have tried a few lotions from the millenium tan line and have been disappointed. I would not recommend them. California tan is a line with some good lotions. Have fun shopping for lotions!!

What is a thick lotion good for eczema for my 8 year old?

We have used aquaphor, and granted it is good, but it is also expensive. I would like to try a lotion on her so it would be easier for her to put on herself. Does anyone have any good recommendations?

Betnovate/Eumovate, the name keeps changing, not sure what the current name is. Hc45 or E45 which I really like because it is also very moisturizing. I think my Betnovate was prescribed at the GP but the other two can be bought for a small price at the supermarket or pharmacy. I would recommend E45 the most because it is gentle, moisturizing, cheap and stings the least. i hope this helps x

What is the best everyday lotion for extremely dry skin?

My skin gets extremely dry in the winter and stays pretty dry in the summer. I would love to have a lotion I could use everyday after I get out of the shower that would stop the itching, flaking, and stop these places from coming up on my body. I assume their some form of Eczema.

I’ve tried coconut oil, cocoa butter, johnson and johnson baby lotion, and other brands. Please give me good suggestions!

Eucerin creams are really good and aquaphor by eucerin. Best thing to do is apply it right after a shower with in five mins don’t dry completly, just towel dab dry, put it on thick let it soak in. Also aveeno has a really good oatmeal bath. Make sure the showers are not to hot or long and you can continue putting on lotion through out the day and do it everyday. Humidifiers are great to get some water in the air with the dry heat we use to heat the house. And switching to all free and clear deturgent helps to.

My three year old has excema and i work in a dermatology office hopes this helps :)

What is the tanning lotion called and do you have any favorites?

I’m going to start going to the tanning bed this spring (something I just discovered this past summer) and need help with this: My legs don’t really tan and someone told me once about a certain kind of tanning lotion (not a brand) that helps specifically tan your legs. I can’t remember what its called. And while you’re here, do you have any certain brands or kinds of lotion that you like? Thanks!

There are so many different kinds of tanning lotions that help you tan. Don’t get any lotions that say "heat" or "tingle factor". Those bring the blood to your skin and make you red, rashy, and look burnt. You’ll feel burnt as well and be miserable for the rest of the day and possibly longer. However long it takes to wear off.

Designer Skin is a great brand but it’s a little expensive. It will take some testing and trying out, but you’ll need to find a lotion you like. There are lotions with bronzers in them and lotions that don’t. Be careful with lotions with bronzers because they can turn your hands orange. They have a hint of sunless tanner in them.

Most tanning salons have tester lotions that are enough for your whole body for just one tan. They range anywhere from $3 to $20 testers. Find one you like, start tanning at less minutes and gradually work your way up to the max. We don’t want you burning!

Good luck and get your tan on !

What is the best lotion or cream for Psoriasis?

I have tried almost every kind of lotion and cream out there. Some make me very itchy or some just don’t moisturize my skin enough. My skin gets very irritated fast. It usually flairs up during the winter months. It comes very dry to the point where i have a hard time moving my body around and cant sleep at night. Need help fast. Thank you in advance.

The main cause of psoriasis is overreaction of the immune system. Keeping it in a balanced state is the key point of battling this disease. I try to eat healthy food and avoid stress as much as I can.
After using number of prescription drugs I’ve turned to the natural treatments.
Now I use serenaskin herbal remedies , which aim at the root of the disease - the immune system, and are steroid-free.
After about 2 weeks of using ointment and spray my skin has been cleared up and now I just continue with psoriasis extract, which controls the immune system. My skin has been clear for months now.
It is the only treatment I have found that provides me complete relief when I use it as directed.

If I shower immediately after tanning and and using tanning lotion will it still work?

I put on tanning lotion before tanning, and sometimes it makes my skin break out so I wanted to wash it off as soon as possible so I wouldn’t get bad acne. Will my tan still show up? Would it be better to just tan without the lotion? Which would be more effective?

There could be something in the lotion that makes you break out. Try one that is fragrant free and paraben free. There are also some brands that make tanning lotion for the face. If you choose not use lotion, you should use a salon grade moisturizer after tanning. The over the counter ones may contain ingredients that block the sun. These will prevent you from tanning. The majority of people I know do not use anything on their face. Some prefer to cover their face with a towel. If you use a bronzer on your body you need to leave it on for a couple of hours before showering. Don’t forget to use a salon grade moisturizer.

What is a good lotion to use after pregnancy for skin firming and dryness?

I had my son 6 weeks ago and my skin is seriously dry. I’ve tried using Dove and Oil of Olay body wash and I use Jergens Skin Firming lotion and Palmer’s Cocoa Butter firming cream. It seems to work at first then a couple of hours later, my skin is dry again. Also, I haven’t noticed any firmness happening. Help!

So called firming lotions are not miracle workers, they can only do so much, and they generally take a long time. If your skin is very dry then you could try using a cream rather than a lotion (the heavier textured creams are more moisturising than the lotions) or you could go to your GP if it is really problematic and they will probably suggest something more effective than the cosmetic creams you can buy. Skin moisture levels are also due to diet, so make sure yours is as healthy as possible, and remember that it does need to include some fats. Fats and oils are a vital part of any diet, and can make a big difference to the condition of your skin and hair.

What’s the best known skin firming lotion and is there anything that can help stretch marks fade?

I just recently had a baby and got some stretch marks from being pumped with fluid. I was wondering what the best skin firming lotion is and if there is anything that will help fade the stretch marks faster.

cocoa butter and vitamin E are great for that. make sure you put it on at least 2 times a day. and what i find useful is if you mix 3 parts cocoa butter lotion with 1 part baby oil. it softens skin and will lighten and smoothen your stretch marks

hope this helps :)

Beginning tanning. What is the best tanning lotion and appropriate amount of initial tanning time in a salon?

As a guy I already have a sort of brown tan but I want it to be darker. I tan pretty easily but want to speed it up a bit instead of baking in the sun. For those of you that know, what’s the best tanning lotion to use and how long do I need to sit in a tanning bed to maximize my tan without getting burned initially?

Why waste money at a salon when the sun is free?
