What is the difference between indoor and outdoor tanning lotion?

I really need to know what's the difference between the two because a few days ago I went to a tanning salon and the lady there said I had to use an indoor lotion, which I first thought is a fake tanning lotion but I guess it isn't, and an outdoor one. Also I would really like to know how the tingle one works and why it's any different because the woman said it makes you turn red! Help
The tingle lotion brings the blood to your skin and helps you tan faster. Most people find it really uncomfortable I prefer not to use a tingler. You need to use indoor tanning lotion in tanning beds because outdoor lotion could ruin the tanning bed. I have had good luck with basically anything by california tan which is not as expensive as some of the other lotions out there and almost all salons carry it.
